Ushers

The usher team is responsible for facilitating smooth operations during church services and special events. Volunteers ensure that worship services are welcoming, orderly, and conducive to worship, ‘Let all things be done decently and in order’
1 Corinthians 14:40.

Volunteers serve as representatives of Elpis, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for attendees. Volunteers may be the first point of contact for attendees, ensuring a positive first impression is vital.

Responsibilities:

• Welcoming and greeting congregants as they arrive.
• Assisting attendees in finding seats.
• Distributing service materials (e.g., programs).
• Collecting offerings or tithes during the service.
• Maintaining order and flow during services, including directing individuals during communion, altar calls, or exits.
• Providing assistance to individuals with special needs (e.g., elderly, disabled).
• Being prepared for emergencies by guiding congregants to safety if necessary.
• Ensuring the cleanliness and readiness of the worship space before and after services (including the lavatories and other areas of the church).
