The hospitality team is dedicated to providing food and refreshments during church events, gatherings, after-service and special occasions. Volunteers in the hospitality team supports the church community by ensuring meals and snacks are prepared, served, and cleaned up efficiently, fostering fellowship and hospitality. This team often works behind the scenes to make events welcoming and memorable, ensuring dietary needs and preferences are met while upholding the church’s mission of service.

Responsibilities

Event Preparation

  • Volunteers may be required to plan menus for church events such as banquets and receptions etc.
  • Coordinate with the events team to understand themes, budgets, and special requirements.

Food Preparation

  • Cook, bake, or prepare food items in accordance with the planned menu.
  • Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are followed.

Service

  • Set up serving stations, tables, or buffet lines for events.
  • Serve refreshments with a welcoming attitude after service.
  • Ensure refreshments are prepared before service.

Clean-Up

  • Manage post-event cleaning of dishes, utensils, and kitchen spaces.
  • Ensure proper waste disposal and recycling where applicable.

Inventory and Supplies

  • Maintain an inventory of kitchen supplies and equipment.
  • Restock ingredients and materials as needed.

Team Coordination

  • Work collaboratively with other team volunteers.
  • Volunteers may be required to train new volunteers and ensure everyone is
  • familiar with safety protocols.
