Job Description & Qualities
- Personal Faith: A clear and strong relationship with Christ, demonstrated through a personal testimony of salvation.
- Strong Biblical Knowledge: Must be doctrinally strong in Gods word and the ability to effectively share and explain it.
- Prayer Life: A consistent and active prayer life, both individually and corporately.
- Fruit of the Spirit: Demonstration of qualities such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control
(Galatians 5:22-23). - Passion for Evangelism
- Heart for the Lost: A genuine burden for reaching people who do not yet know Christ.
- Commitment to Sharing the Gospel: A willingness to actively participate in outreach efforts and engage with others about their faith. Interpersonal Skills
- Relational Skills: Ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and build meaningful relationships.
- Listening Skills: The ability to listen actively and empathetically, understanding others' needs and concerns.
Training and Equipability
- Teachable Spirit: Openness to learning new methods and approaches for effective evangelism.
- Completion of Training: Willingness to undergo any training or discipleship programs provided by the church.
Alignment with Church Vision
- Shared Vision: Alignment with the church's mission, values, and evangelistic goals.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with other team members, respecting leadership and the unity of the church.
Commitment and Availability
- Time Commitment: Availability to participate in scheduled evangelistic activities, meetings, and events.
- Consistency: Regular attendance and participation in church services and activities.
Integrity and Character
- Moral Uprightness: Living a lifestyle that reflects Christ and is consistent with biblical principles.
- Accountability: Willingness to be held accountable to the church leadership and the team.
Cross-Cultural Awareness
- Cultural Sensitivity: For teams reaching diverse populations, understanding and respecting cultural differences is crucial.
Spiritual Gifts and Talents
- Evangelism Gift: While not mandatory, volunteers with the spiritual gift of evangelism may be particularly effective.
- Complementary Gifts: Other spiritual gifts will be needed in the evangelism team.
Dependence on the Holy Spirit
- Spirit-Led: A dependence on the Holy Spirit for guidance, wisdom, and boldness in outreach efforts.
